Terms and conditions of starting therapy

Please read the following terms and conditions. I will ask you to agree with these in advance so that our expectations are aligned.

Confidentiality 

Clinical sessions based on a private, medical or self-referral will be treated as confidential. However, there are some circumstances whereby confidentiality may need to be broken and liaison with relevant services, such as your GP, necessary:
· If information is provided concerning risk of harm to client or anyone else.
· If information is provided relating to the wellbeing of, or harm to children.
· Need to know information for another health service provider (E.g. GP).

Session frequency 

Sessions last for 45-50 minutes of clinical time.

We will agree the frequency of our sessions jointly following assessment and will review this regularly. 

We will plan for any breaks in therapy due to client or therapist leave. I aim to make you aware of any time that I will be unavailable two weeks in advance.

Therapy sessions can be terminated at any time by either the client or the therapist. In the event that the therapist believes that further sessions are not clinically indicated or helpful, there will be a rationale provided for this. In the event of a change in personal circumstances, you will be given a minimum of 4 weeks notice of termination.

Session Cancellation Policy

Sessions cancelled more than 48 hours notice will not be charged a fee.

Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged at full price. Non attendance will be charged at full price. I try to be fair when there are emergencies and other reasons outside of your control. However, repeated cancellations at short notice will be charged.

Very occasionally I may need to cancel a session and will let you know by email if this occurs. I will aim to reschedule at the earliest possible time.

Requests for letters and reports  

Occasionally clients ask for additional administrative to take place outside of sessions, for examples reports or letters. We will discuss whether this is possible and agree any additional fees for this in advance.
