Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I speak to you before booking in for an appointment?

I understand that it can be daunting to book in for therapy. However in my experience short phone consultations are not often productive. It is not possible to fully understand your difficulties in a 10-15 minute call and it’s undoubtably more therapeutic to have a full assessment session to develop this understanding. By the end of your first session I can usually provide options for a therapeutic plan if we were to work together.

For more information please see my article on What can I expect when seeing a psychologist?

What kinds of difficulties do you work with?

I work exclusively with adults and most of my clients are 30+. My specialist areas of expertise are:

Trauma

Anxiety

Self esteem

Physical health

I do not offer work with the following difficulties as these are outside of my areas of expertise:

Children and young people

ADHD and autism assessments

Substance and alcohol dependence

Relational difficulties and personality disorders

Severe mental health difficulties and/or risk to self that requires the input of a mental health team.

Please note I do not offer a crisis service. If you are concerned about your mental health please contact your general practitioner or local crisis service.

What is your availability for sessions?

I currently offer sessions online from Monday to Wednesday between 10am and 6pm. My session fees are £120 per 45-50 minute session.
